I'm too busy cooking...
White Bread
Yep.
Ingredients
1.25 cup Water
1.5 tablespoon White Sugar
0.25 ounce Active Dry Yeast
3 tablespoon Salted Butter
0.5 tablespoon Salt
3 to 3.5 cups Bread Flour
Directions
Activate the yeast:
Add the yeast and sugar to a large bowl
Heat the water to 100-110 degrees (F) and then add it to the bowl
Mix to dissolve the yeast
Let sit 5-10 minutes
Make the dough:
Soften/melt 2 tbsp of butter, and add to a mixing bowl for the Kitchenaid Mixer you totally have
Add the salt to the mixing bowl
Add the activated yeast to the bowl and mix
Mix in the flour slowly, 1/2 cup at a time
I say 3 to 3.5 cups of flour because you want to get it to just barely not sticking to your hands; add the last half a cup if necessary, slowly
Let the Kitchenaid beat the dough for ~3-5 minutes (beat by hand for 5 if you hate yourself)
Grease a large bowl with butter (butter, butter, butter!)
Add the dough to the bowl, getting a little butter all over it
Let sit for ~60 minutes covered with a damp cloth
Waiting, part two:
Grease a 9x5 loaf pan
Take the bread from the bowl and deflate it, then add to the pan
Let it sit for ~40 minutes
The Warmening:
At the ~30 minute mark, preheat your oven to 475
I like to give the bread a melted butter glaze on top, for color, texture, and taste (butter!)
After it's preheated, lower the heat to 375 and put the pan in the oven
Bake for ~20-30 minutes, until your home smells like buttered bread (and the bread is golden brown all over - see photos)
Take it out and don't burn yourself eating it too fast
